How the Program Works
Your First 18 is divided into five progressive phases, each lasting 1–2 months. You’ll develop both the physical skills (swing mechanics, short game, putting) and the mental skills (confidence, focus, strategy) needed to play real golf confidently.
PHASE 1 — FOUNDATIONS (Months 1–2)
Build comfort, confidence, and a clean, repeatable setup.
We start with the most important fundamentals — the pieces that influence everything else in your swing. Over the first two months, you’ll learn how to set up consistently, make solid ball contact, and understand how each club works.
You’ll Learn:
Grip, posture, stance, alignment
Half-swing development → ¾ swings
Ball contact, balance, and body control
Intro to irons, hybrids, and driver basics
Range safety, etiquette, and confidence
Example Lessons:
Week 1–2: Setup, grip, body positions
Week 3–4: Half-swing → ¾ swing progression
Week 5–6: Iron contact & launch basics
Week 7–8: Intro to hybrids & basic driver setup
PHASE 2 — FULL SWING & BALL-STRIKING (Months 3–4)
Develop reliable contact, distance, and directional control.
Now that your foundations are strong, we turn your swing into a tool you can trust. These months are all about creating a swing that produces predictable, repeatable results.
You’ll Learn:
Iron mechanics & ball-first contact
Hybrids & fairway woods
Driver setup, ball position & tee height
Launch, trajectory & distance control
Fixing common beginner misses (slice, hook, thin, fat)
Example Lessons:
Week 1–2: Iron impact, divot, extension
Week 3–4: Fairway woods & hybrids
Week 5–6: Driver foundation development
Week 7–8: Direction control & ball flight patterns
PHASE 3 — SHORT GAME MASTERY (Months 5–6)
Your fastest path to lower scores — even as a beginner.
Short game is where beginners gain confidence the quickest. These two months focus entirely on the scoring areas that make rounding out your game easier and more fun.
You’ll Learn:
Chipping technique & simple club selection
Pitching from 20–70 yards
Greenside bunker fundamentals
Putting setup, path, pace, and green reading
How to practice the short game effectively
Example Lessons:
Week 1: Chipping fundamentals
Week 2: Different lies around the green
Week 3: Pitching trajectory & landing spots
Week 4: Distance control drills
Week 5: Putting mechanics
Week 6: Green reading & speed control
Week 7–8: Bunker basics + scoring shots
PHASE 4 — COURSE PLAY, STRATEGY & CONFIDENCE (Months 7–8)
Learn how to actually play the game — not just swing the club.
You now have enough skill to start thinking like a golfer on the course. We focus on strategy, shot planning, target selection, and how to stay confident and consistent under pressure.
You’ll Learn:
Beginner-friendly course strategy
Rules, pace of play & on-course etiquette
Tee-box strategy & easy aiming systems
Approaches, layups & recovery shots
Simple stat tracking (fairways, greens, putts)
Example Lessons:
Week 1: Rules & beginner course management
Week 2: Smart tee shots & aiming systems
Week 3: Approaches, layups & risk management
Week 4: Trouble shots (trees, slopes, rough)
Week 5–6: Full-simulation practice
Optional: 3–6 hole on-course session
PHASE 5 — SKILL REFINEMENT & LONG-TERM DEVELOPMENT (Month 9)
Build habits that last. Play full rounds with confidence.
The final month transitions you from “learning the game” to owning your development. You’ll learn how to practice with purpose, understand your distances, and create a consistent round-to-round routine.
You’ll Learn:
How to design your own practice sessions
Distance gapping & club yardages
Pre-shot routines and focus habits
Long-term goal setting
Whether club fitting is appropriate for your development
Example Lessons:
Week 1: Practice structure & self-assessment
Week 2: Distance calibration
Week 3: Mental game & routines
Week 4: Final performance review & improvement roadmap
